On every road trip, I take my daughter to Target and let her pick out a new “road trip coloring book.” She gets really excited about it, which usually helps keep her interest longer while in her car seat. Here are some of our go-tos: clementines, bananas, fruit leather, macadamia nuts, beef jerky, cheese, squeezable chia packets, bread, peanut butter crackers. I avoid sugary snacks and drinks because I’m not about to have a sugared up toddler in the car with me for the next 8 hours. I try to be prepared and just have a boatload of snacks. Toddlers can eat their body weight in snacks one day, and then the next decision to eat 1 cracker all day.
